ZHANG Xiaojing is the Chair of the School Council and Researcher of the School of International Studies, Renmin University of China. She obtained her LL.B. (1994) and LL.M. (1997) in Communist Party History from Renmin University of China. In 2007, she earned her LL.D. in Political Science Theory from School of International Studies at Renmin University of China.
Dr. Zhang has been employed at Renmin University of China since 1990, progressively assuming roles including Deputy Director of the Undergraduate Teaching Assessment Office (1999-2008), Deputy Director of the Academic Affairs Office (2003-2008), Director of the Student Affairs Office (2008-2013), Director of the International Office (2013-2018), and the Chair of School Council and Deputy Dean at the School of Education (2018- May 2023).
Dr. Zhang served as a visiting scholar at Simon Fraser University’s Faculty of Education in Canada in 2010. Additionally, she took part in the “W30” Women’s Leadership Training Program at the UCLA Anderson School of Management in the United States in 2013.
Dr. Zhang currently holds the positions of the Deputy Director and Secretary-General of the Higher Education Professional Committee at the China Education Development Strategic Society. She also serves as the Secretary-General of the Expert Committee on “Education, Women, and Sustainable Development” within the China Education International Exchange Association. In addition, she is a Special Researcher at the Research Institute for Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era. Furthermore, she holds the role of Researcher at the Humanistic Beijing (Humanistic Olympics) Research Center at Renmin University of China and Researcher at the National Academy of Development and Strategy (NADS).
Dr. Zhang is a member of the China Association of Higher Education, the China Mental Health Association (CMHA), and the USA National Association of Student Personnel Administrators (NASPA).
Dr. Zhang’s research Interests encompass higher education management, student development, mental health education, as well as research focusing on education, women and sustainable development.
Attended annual conferences of APAIE, NASPA, and APSSA as a student affair professional.
Organized high-level cultural exchange projects between China and Europe, China and France, and China and Russia in higher education.
Participated in the CAMPUS Asia project led by the Trilateral Cooperation Secretariat (TCS) of China, Japan and South Korea.
Coordinated the “World Conference on Sinology” (2012-2016).
Contributed to “China Studies Program” initiated by the Center for Language Education and Cooperation.
